NAFNET/ Practising the PhD: Exploring the Realities, Rewards and Responsibilities of Fine Art Doctorates

NAFNET is a member-focused forum for debate around important aspects of Fine Art education in the current climate. NAFNET takes place on Zoom and sessions are recorded and can be accessed by NAFAE members afterwards.

This session chaired by Andrew Bracey, University of Lincoln opens up a conversation around PhDs by practice in Fine Art—from the perspective of current candidates, supervisors, and prospective applicants. We’ll share practical tips, reflect on challenges and successes, and explore how practice-led research can thrive within the shifting landscape of higher education. Join us to exchange ideas and strengthen our collective understanding of what it means to do, support, and envision a Fine Art PhD today.
