Who we are
NAFAE is the national subject association for post-statutory Fine Art education, both formal and alternatives. We are a welcoming and supportive network of practitioners committed to socially engaged values and to sustaining Fine Art cultures in an evolving political, technological, and economic landscape.
What we stand for
NAFAE champions Fine Art as a critical educational process and active learning culture. We advocate for the essential role of Fine Art in public life and its power to advance social justice. We amplify voices that recognise and promote its critical, transformative potential.

Join Us
Be part of a growing movement that values Fine Art as a vital force in education, culture, and society. Together, we shape the future of Fine Art education.
The NAFAE membership is drawn principally from academics involved in Higher education courses within the Fine Arts. Our aim is that the future membership will include representatives from schools, FE colleges, cultural industries and international arts institutions.
We are committed to ensuring that Fine Art in all its diverse forms and manifestations continues to be at the heart of Art and Design institutions and that the currency, vitality and distinctiveness of the subject is maintained and enhanced.
