This year's AGM and forum is taking place on Friday 30th March at Square One, The Hub, Coventry University.
The afternoon event will be a Round Table discussion about the status of the contemporary art prize, a collaboration between LPG and the Marmite Prize for Painting.

Please find links at the bottom of the page to download the itinerary for the day, directions, suggested accomodation, and information about the afternoons Round Table event, as well as nomination papers for the posts of secretary and treasurer. There will be refreshments provided in the morning on arrival. Lunch will be from 1-2.30pm at the Herbert Café. If you are intending to attend all or part of the day please email Andy at admin@nafae.org.uk, indicating whether you would like lunch as we need to reserve tables in advance.

There is not a formal booking procedure, but it would be helpful if you could let us know if you are expecting to attend the AGM and Round Table event. You do not have to be a member of NAFAE to attend and the event is free to NAFAE members. If you are not sure if you are up to date with your membership please email Andy.

For those interested there is an event on the Thursday evening: Bruit de fond - Night of experimentalaudio visual chaos. This is taking place in the LPG gallery 8pm - 10pm.

All the information is available on our website nafae.org.uk, our Facebook page, and at lanchesterprojects.org.uk

‘Given the present proliferation of the art prize (perhaps not unrelated to recessionary budgeting), can it retain its prestige and currency as valorisation? In fact, has the art prize ever brought anything new, in terms of art and artists, into the mainstream of the art world, or does it just function to valorise existing hierarchies and trends?'
