The Gallery
The Arts University College at Bournemouth

Saturday 28th January 2012
10.30am – 5.00pm

An invitation for you to attend a Symposium dedicated to the Art School Gallery. This symposium sets out investigate the effectiveness of the programming and management of Galleries based in and largely funded by Universities and Colleges and to evaluate the impact on the learning environment.

How does ‘the gallery’ within a higher education institution define its relationship to the learning, teaching and research associated with creative art, design and media curricula? The gallery is a physical space, a place of exhibition and congregation, and a conceptual space that can sustain a wider sharing of ideas through discourse and critical exchanges: a space of bringing in and sending out.

Keynote Speaker Sarah Shalgosky - Curator at the Warwick Arts Centre
