Mark Gaynor, Principal Lecturer in Visual & Interactive Arts Studio Practice at Southampton Solent University, will be splitting his time between SSU and Europe from this September having been offered a two year secondment with The European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA), based in Amsterdam.

ELIA - founded in 1990 and funded by the European Commission - is the primary independent network organization of major arts HE institutions and universities representing all subject disciplines.

Mark will be joining the executive office in a brand new post – jointly funded by SSU and ELIA – with responsibility ELIA’s membership liaison of more than 350 arts institutions in 47 countries across the globe.

As well as consolidating and expanding the membership, Mark’s new role will be responsible for improving communications between the organisation and its members and amongst the membership.
